Research, put to work

Every mission draws on one of our research programmes, and every mission returns a sharper question to it.

Research that never meets a decision changes little. Decisions taken without research repeat the errors the numbers conceal. Industries, public bodies, investors and civil society face questions now: which technology to back, which standard to trust, which margin to keep, which use of land to favour.

We accept advisory work on two conditions: the method stays ours to disclose, and the conclusion stays ours to reach.

Who we work for

ActorThe kind of question they bring
IndustriesWhich technologies and materials actually cut emissions, and which carry a risk of being re-rated?
Public bodiesWhat does a policy cost once land, forests and leakage abroad are counted? What should a roadmap include?
InvestorsWhich assets presented as low-carbon are exposed to future changes in the rules?
Civil societyDoes a claim hold once its method and boundary are shown?

What we can bring to your question: our capabilities

How a mission runs

  1. 01Your question

We start from the decision you face, not from a service list.

  2. 02A match to a programme

If the question sits outside our four programmes, we say so and, where we can, suggest who could help.

  3. 03Scope

Boundary, data, method and deliverable are agreed in writing before work starts.

  4. 04Method disclosed

You see the assumptions, the uncertainty and what we could not count.

  5. 05Delivery

Results with their status: what is established, what is provisional, what is unknown.

  6. 06Back to research

What the mission taught us about the method returns to the programme. Your data and results stay with you.

Terms we keep

  • Every mission draws on a research programme.
  • Client data and results stay with the client. Methods are published; a client's name never is.
  • We assess claims. We do not certify or endorse them, and we accept no payment for endorsement.
  • Any public output states its method and assumptions.
  • We do not present a result we cannot explain.
  • We argue for a material, sector or policy only on published, reviewable evidence.

Examples

Client names are never published.

CIR · JEIMillennia is accredited for the research tax credit (Crédit d'Impôt Recherche) and holds Jeune Entreprise Innovante status. Research commissioned from an accredited body can count toward a client's own research tax credit, under the conditions of French tax law.

Questions

Is the list of missions above exhaustive?

No. The three depths describe how far a mission goes, not a fixed menu. If your question is close to one of our programmes, we can discuss it.

How long does a mission take?

From a few days for a briefing to several years for a roadmap. The scope note gives a date before work starts.

Will our name or data appear on your site?

No. We never publish client names. We describe the question and the method in general terms, and only with your agreement.

Who carries out the work?

The founder leads every mission. For each one, he brings in academic and research partners matched to the question.

Can you confirm that our product is low-carbon?

We can assess the claim and show what it rests on. We do not certify products.

What if your conclusion does not suit us?

The conclusion stays ours to reach. You receive it with its method, and you decide what to do with it.
